Vegetarians
need to grab lunch whilst shopping or travelling...
All too often we find the choice is between a cheese or an egg mayo sandwich;
a jacket potato with baked beans or one with grated cheddar. Something a little
different will be appreciated a lot!
Try these
suggestions:
For
sandwiches
~ vegetarian sausage and pickle
~ hummous and sliced tomatoes or beetroot
~ slices of smoked tofu with salad
~ crunchy peanut butter with watercress
Do
vary the breads - white, wholemeal, granary, pitta, wraps, ciabatta,
baguette, rye bread, bagels, English muffins, Derbyshire oatcakes,
naan bread....
And
cheese is fine occasionally but please remember that Cheddar is not
the only variety - you can find vegetarian Mozzarella, Edam, Double
Gloucester, Gruyere, Red Leicester, Halloumi, Cheshire....
