The campaign has been developed in response to the common experience of many vegetarians who have been offered fish as a 'vegetarian' option by caterers, who seem to think that fish is suitable for vegetarians!

Clearly this myth needs to be debunked, so The Vegetarian Society is taking the helm and steering caterers in the right direction. As well as taking out advertisements in the trade press, the Society has produced a set of wallet-sized cards giving the definition of vegetarianism and details about the free advice and recipe packs available for caterers. These cards can be given to the chef or manager, or left discreetly on the table.
