Join the masses! 5,000 each week are currently becoming vegetarian. If you haven't already tried it, discover how great going vegetarian can be in National Vegetarian Week. Here are a few of the reasons why you might want to give it a try... |
Going Veggie is Great for your health. Research has shown that vegetarians suffer less heart disease and cancer, the two biggest killers in the UK, and on average, vegetarians visit hospital over 20% less than meat eaters. Whatever your age, a vegetarian diet has all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals you need. The oldest person in the world happens to be vegetarian! |
|
Going Veggie is Great news for animals. If you care about animals, it makes sense to be a vegetarian. As more people stop eating meat, fewer animals are killed for food. Being vegetarian means having a compassionate diet, where nothing has to suffer to reach your plate. After all, you can't hurt a vegetable! |
Going Veggie is Great for the environment. A vegetarian diet is less polluting, uses less land and energy and is more environmentally sustainable than a meat based diet. Rainforest continues to be cleared to make way for cattle grazing, and all of the world's major fisheries are at the point of collapse because of over-fishing. By becoming vegetarian, your diet really can become an important tool for protecting the environment. |
