National Vegetarian Week - Vegfest 1998
A week of veg power!

Prepare for the biggest vegetarian event of the year. National Vegetarian Week 1998, organised and co-ordinated by the Vegetarian Society, is confirmed for June 1st - June 7th. For the second year running this week of celebration will culminate in Vegfest 98, the UK's only vegetarian food and lifestyle festival. Vegfest 98 will be held in Manchester on Sunday June 7th at the prestigious Castlefield Events Arena.

This year National Vegetarian Week invites everyone to 'Get an Appetite for Life' and try out the future of food. The week will celebrate how compassionate, planet friendly, healthy, nutritious and above all fun vegetarianism can be!

National Vegetarian Week 1998 promises to be the biggest and best celebration of vegetarianism ever staged in the UK. Everyone in the United Kingdom will be invited to give vegetarianism a try. The week of campaigning and promotion is the perfect chance to celebrate all things veggie. National Vegetarian Week will involve caterers, restaurants, health food stores, supermarkets, schools along with millions of vegetarians and non-vegetarians all over the UK.

Vegetarians across the country, helped by the Society's 130 local network groups, will be organising events and promotions to coincide with the week. Along with staging Vegfest 98, the Vegetarian Society is planning to launch a new poster campaign and vegetarian survey. A sensational collection of veggie recipe cards, posters, t-shirts, flyers, stickers etc...will all be available to make the week the biggest statement of veggie power ever.

The future of food has already arrived...
