
Scotland preparing for veggie invasion!

Scotland has been put on alert in order to prepare for an invasion of vegetarians. Vegetarians from all over the country will be travelling to Scotland for the weekend of 22-24th October. Three days of events and social activities will take place in celebration of The Vegetarian Society's Annual General Meeting. The AGM itself taking place at the Heriot Watt University Campus on Saturday October 23rd.
The official business will be followed by a report on the society's activities for the year. Guest speaker, Lindsay Keenan, Greenpeace UK Markets Campaigner, will be giving an update on current genetic engineering issues. The AGM weekend will take in such local vegetarian delights as Henderson's restaurant and Black Bo's restaurant.
"Edinburgh is a fantastic place to be a vegetarian and we hope by holding our AGM here, we can put the city firmly on the veggie map. Hopefully our presence in the city will encourage more people to discover that vegetarianism makes perfect sense" said Tina Fox, Chief Executive.
The AGM is an event for Vegetarian Society members and attendance must be booked in advance.
The Vegetarian Society exists to promote and provide information on vegetarianism. The society runs the widely trusted symbol, The Cordon Vert Cookery School, a membership scheme and publishes 'The Vegetarian' magazine quarterly. The Vegetarian Society is a registered charity dedicated to promoting a diet that is good for animals, people and the environment.
