Don't like Mondays - Let's do lunch? PRESS RELEASE 18 August 1999 The Vegetarian Society's Cordon Vert Cookery School invites you to kick start your week at its new Monday 'lunch clubs'. Based in Altrincham at the home of the Cordon Vert, the 'lunch clubs' offer a taste of delicious, gourmet vegetarian cuisine, using for example Mexican, Thai or Italian influences. The clubs usually commence at 11am and comprise a cookery demonstration followed by a three-course lunch and are priced at only ten pounds. Each 'lunch club' follows a different theme and is an ideal introduction to vegetarian cuisine and to the courses offered at the Cordon Vert. The sessions are friendly and relaxed with lunch usually over by 1.30pm. Clubs prior to Christmas are as follows: 13th September Thai, 25th October Italian, and 15th November Mexican. The Vegetarian Society's headquarters in Altrincham has been home to the Cordon Vert School since 1982. Set in Cheshire countryside the school has recently undergone modernisation. The school now has the facilities to match its unrivalled reputation for excellent, imaginative and innovative vegetarian cuisine. Courses run throughout the year, catering for all abilities from the amateur through to the professional. The Vegetarian Society exists to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.
