Vegfest '99

PRESS RELEASE
20th May

Get set for Vegfest '99, the UK's only vegetarian food and lifestyle festival. The one-day festival, organised by The Vegetarian Society, takes place on Saturday 19th June, from 11:00 - 5:30, at The Castlefield Events Arena, Liverpool Road, Manchester (opposite The Museum of Science and Industry). Vegfest is the culmination of National Vegetarian Week 14th - 20th June, a week of promotions, campaigns and events, in celebration of all things veggie.

Vegfest is free, open to everyone, and offers the chance to have some fun, find out about vegetarianism, and give veggie food a try for the day. There's lots going on. Veggie friendly stalls, giant inflatables, crazy 'It's a Knockout' course, music, entertainment, information, expert cookery demonstrations, plenty of delicious food, a giant veggie barbecue. And watch out for the twenty-foot metal fork! Previous Vegfest's have included a record breaking 31 tonne salad, canoeing giant vegetables and a strong man show from a veggie body builder.

Vegfest '99 promises to offer a taste of the healthiest, most compassionate, planet-friendly diet on earth - don't miss it.

Throughout National Vegetarian Week, The Vegetarian Society is offering a free 'Bumper Veggie Starter Pack'. The pack is bursting with delicious recipes, advice and top tips. To request a pack, either call 0161 925 2000 or send a large stamped addressed envelope to the address below.
