The week is now gone.... but here is what is was all about: Get your skates on and get involved in National Vegetarian Week 2000
From the 26th of June to the 2nd of July The Vegetarian Society, a registered charity, will be encouraging the UK to move up a gear and try out seven days of meat free meals. To get your hands on your free Veggies on the Move Pack, brim full of tasty recipes, tips and all the ideas you'll need to transport yourself to a meat free week, call 0161 925 2000. Don't forget to check out this web site for loads of mouthwatering recipes and tons of good information.
National Vegetarian Week 2000 will be focussing on food on the move - from sandwiches to airline meals! Every one wants to have delicious, quality food when they are out and about, and the UK's 4 million vegetarians and many more meat reducers are no exception. Whether in the workplace, at school, in sandwich shops at stations or airports they demand the best. As well as tempting individuals to try out meat free meals, caterers and restaurants will be being encouraged to revamp their menus and provide more choice.
This year we may in fact be in a town near you, helping out with the practical
side of being veggie or meat reducing in our Veggies on the Move double
decker bus. The bus will be providing information and recipes to the
public on going and staying veggie and is supported by Dalepak, HarperCollins
Publishers, People's Bank and Philips Domestic Appliances.
