July 2:

Vegetarian diet 'can cut risk of cancer by 45 per cent' – seen Daily Mail
Su Taylor, of the Vegetarian Society, said: 'This latest research adds to a growing body of evidence that vegetarians are less likely to get cancer.
'It could be they are simply more likely to stick to the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, thereby eating more roughage, or it could be more complicated than this.'

Proof That Vegetarians are Less Prone to Cancer – seen the Express
Su Taylor, from the Vegetarian Society, said: “It is widely recognised that around a third of cancers are directly related to diet.
“ However this study shows a very interesting link to blood cancers which had not been widely recognised in the past.
“ While we would not claim a vegetarian diet to be a cure-all, it is a step in the right direction.”

Being a vegetarian can cut your risk of cancer by a half, claim scientists – seen the Telegraph
Su Taylor, of The Vegetarian Society, said: "That is why we need more research along these lines to find out exactly what is going on. We are not saying vegetarianism is the panacea for all ill health but it certainly helps protect against a number of diseases."

Vegetarians less likely to develop cancer than meat eaters, says study – seen the Guardian
Annette Pinner, chief executive of the Vegetarian Society, said: "It is widely recognised that a third of cancers are directly related to diet and what's interesting in this study is the findings on blood cancers. We wouldn't claim vegetarianism is a panacea for cancer but it is a step in the right direction."
