Free–range eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, veggie sausages and vegetarian ‘bacon’ rashers all go to make a full ‘traditional’ veggie breakfast.

Other interesting ideas

  • Try soaking muesli overnight in dairy or soya milk and serve with fresh fruit such as grapes, chopped apples, sliced bananas, kiwi fruit and strawberries.
  • Try layering muesli, fruit and yoghurt in sundae glasses.
  • How about making a vegetarian kedgeree with slices of grilled smoked tofu to replace the fish.
  • Serve interesting preserves and spreads with nutty wholemeal toast.
