CHEF VEGGIES OUT IN ST ALBANS

Popular chef
and TV personality, Richard Cawley, launched National Vegetarian
Week when he visited Sainsbury's London Colney yesterday (Monday
8 July).
Richard, who
is a regular face on Ready Steady Cook and Can't Cook Won't Cook,
kick-started the week long celebration of all things veggie in the
store's now we're cooking area. He demonstrated a selection of vegetarian
recipes proving that food doesn't have to be dull to be meat-free.
Customers gathered
to watch Richard in action, asking him questions as he created each
dish and making sure they got a taste of each of the six vegetarian
delights, including asparagus strangozzi pasta with peanut sauce.
Store manager,
Peter White, said: "We were proud to have our in-store kitchen
as the launch pad for National Vegetarian Week. It was a treat for
our customers as, although we have had many celebrity chefs cook
in the store before, Richard was the first to specialise in vegetarian
cooking, I think it was a real eye opener for a lot of shoppers
and I hope they will try some of the dishes."
