Official Launch of National Vegetarian Week. The "Fresh to go" counter will be serving variations of the Satisfaction recipes and there will also be samples of foods from safeway's vegetarian range and information about vegetarianism through the ages. 12-2pm.

May 19-25: 12-3pm and 5-8pm, we will be displaying information throughout the Week, promoting the benefits of the vegetarian diet with discussions and talks, also promoting our new vegetarian cookbook "Food & Soul" concentrating on the Broccoli and Mushroon Pie recipe.
On Friday 25th, there will be a competition for the best variation on the Broccoli and Mushroom Pie recipe (no onions or garlic please). The prize will be a day at our magnificent retreat centre in Oxford where the food is superb plus a signed copy of the "Food & Soul" cookbook.

May 19: 11am-3pm, Kathy Silk (Vegetarian Society representative and Salon Culinaire Gold Medallist) will be demonstrating Thai Stir Fry, Cilli Bean Pasta and Carrot, Parsley and Butterbean soup. Come along to try free samples of the food and pick up some new recipes and cookery tips.

May 19: 7pm, vegetarian banquet that will be joined by Jerome Flynn and the cast of "Jus' Like That" the Tommy Cooper biopic, after their evening performance. The menu will include tempting dishes from places like Africa, India, Italy and the Caribbean and the music will be live. Tickets cost £28.50 and Plant will be making a donation to The Vegetarian Society for each ticket sold. To reserve a table call 020 7734 7528.

During National Vegetarian Week, Plant will be offering everyone who buys one of its unique Plant Trays a voucher for a third off one of its unusual breakfast dishes on a return visit. Breakfast dishes can be eaten in Plant Cafe or taken away and include organic scramnled eggs with herb cream cheese, chicory and green beans served on tomato toast wedges; scrambled Tofulette Sunrise and Roasted Vegetables with golden melted Cheddar on a toasted English muffin.
