Vegetarian Week 2003 Launch
Veg
Week launch sends the right message!

Safeway
staff sampling the store's own pizza variation
On
Monday 19th May, NVW 2003 was launched in Safeway's St. Katherine's
dock store. Vegetarian Society staff and nutritionists from Safeway
were on hand to give the stores' many lunchtime visitors helpful
advice on going veggie. As well as treating customers to tastings
of Safeway's new veggie range (which I have to admit, were so delicious,
that I didn't need to buy any lunch that day!), we gave out hundreds
of copies of our Satisfaction recipe booklet. Customers got the
chance to enter a competition to win a mountain bike by guessing
the correct number of products in the new Safeway vegetarian range
(15). The Society's Press Officer, Kerry Bennett, was on hand to
release the results
of our "saucy survey" and Safeway's announced the results
of their own survey (which research indicates that we will all be
veggie by the year 2047!). The day was a great success with many
customers vowing to make at least one of the Satisfaction recipes
during the week.
