May 23: join us for a five and a half mile picnic ramble through the glorious Chaddesley Corbett countryside. Meet 12noon at the Swan Inn. Everyone welcome, please bring vegetarian/vegan picnic food and drink to share and sensible footwear/lightweight waterproofs/sunglasses/SPF.

May 30: Try before you buy! All are welcome to a food tasting and talk on "The Health and Other Advantages of Vegan and Vegetarian Diets" sponsored by Alpro Soya, 3pm at St George's Annexe, Radford Avenue, Kidderminster. Admission only £2. Free recipes and literature available on the day.

We have also revamped our website at www.wyreforestvegsoc.co.uk in time for National Vegetarian Week, it now includes a new-look discussion forum, a local vegetarian directory and Veggie Vaders!

May 30: we will be celebrating National Vegetarian Week with "Spring Strudels", 13.00 at the Plume of Feathers (veggie owner), Welland, near Upton-on-Severn. Strudel, free veggie beers followed by picnic, play area for children. Details on 07 792 720462 (Orange) social event

Worcestershire County Council is using National Vegetarian Week as a springboard for promoting the beenfits of composting! The message is "Everyone Loves a Rotter" and they are offering residnets compost bins at reduced prices. More information on 01905 766883 or www.wastemissionimpossible.org.uk news item
