NVW Press & Media Coverage

This year we have implemented a multi-layered media and press strategy and we are looking forward to coverage of National Vegetarian Week across trade publications (food service, retail and restaurant titles), consumer titles, national and regional press as well as radio stations across the UK.

It’s a great week to advertise your vegetarian products and services – particularly in the regional press, many of whom use the week for dedicated vegetarian advertising features.

Last year’s press circulation for National Vegetarian Week reached a massive 51 million, plus an additional 32 million through radio and television coverage. For 2004, we hope our 12th national awareness week will bring even greater success, with the whole nation discussing all things vegetarian.

There are lots of ways to make the most of this opportunity, including:

• Launch a new product or service during National Vegetarian Week.

• Become an official National Vegetarian Week partner.

• Issue your own press release highlighting the services you offer to vegetarians throughout the year.

• Follow the example of Copperfields Vegetarian Guesthouse in Broadstairs and get in touch with your local radio station to offer a competition prize to celebrate National Vegetarian Week.

• Promote your business with a themed special offer, linked to readership of a popular local newspaper or listeners to the top radio station in your area.

AND most importantly…

Let us know what you are doing to celebrate National Vegetarian Week by completing the online diary form . The online diary is extensively used by national and regional media in the run-up and during the week itself, so make sure that your events, activities and promotions are all included.
