The Vegetarian Society’s 12th annual awareness week offers teachers an ideal opportunity for promoting healthy eating and reinforcing the ‘5 fruit and veg a day’ message with projects and topics across the curriculum.

Our Teachers Activity Pack features 16 quick lesson ideas, five complete lesson plans, background information and a word search. Other free resources for teachers include:
• nutritional posters
• recipe & nutrition bookmarks
• GCSE Food Technology project books
• nutritional leaflets
• National Vegetarian Week posters and leaflets

Outside of the classroom we are building on last year’s successful launch of the comprehensive guide, ‘Vegetarian Catering for Schools and Colleges’ with two brand new recipes ideal for growing children. The traditionally inspired recipes, are a tasty Shepherd's Pie and Spanish Omelette. Caterers can also request 200 bookmarks featuring 5 different recipes to give out to pupils during the week.
