Tastes of Anglia's role is to promote the fine food and drink produced in the six counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. We provide trading opportunities and a comprehensive service package to support our members and help increase awareness of the region's products. They will be promoting National Vegetarian Week to their members and using the logo in their newsletter

Pea Souk
Ross Street Community Centre, Ross Street, Cambridge.
May 26. Social Event. Food. 7pm. Pea Souk is a new vegetarian cafe which will be opening in Falmouth later this year, but for NVW they are hosting a delicious middle eastern meal to raise money for Veg Soc and Viva! It's a 3 course vegetarian meal with vegan and wheat-free choices, there's no alcohol license but you can bring your own! Pea Souk is run by Cordon Vert graduate Nicola Willis; music by DJ Records and Paul Shapes. Price £7.50 - open to everyone, you can buy advance tickets at Indigo Coffee House, St Edwards Passage or just come on the evening. Arjuna Wholefoods have kindly agreed to sponsor this event; Revital Health Food Shop is also kindly helping to advertise it. Everyone welcome, an excellent opportunity for meat-eaters to try veggie food. Cafe Pulse has also launched an online discussion forum in the run up to National Vegetarian Week. Rayleigh Cheryl Gibson, a child minder in Rayleigh, is planning a whole week of vegetarian foods for the children to try for lunch and evening meals. She's going to get the children to try different recipes, tell them why people become vegetarian and give them some colouring and educational activities to do.

We visit seven local secondary schools in the area, working with two health nurses, attempting to make young people aware and encouraging them to make good choices in life.

We'll be looking at the vegetarian diet, talking about the variety of food available to vegetarians; its health benefits, vitamins & minerals etc. Each student will put together a vegetarian menu for the Week, we will select the best dishes on these, make some at school and try to encourage parents to make them. Also doing artwork with vegetables and seeing what creative things we can do with them- papier mache, symmetry-and some maths too!
SUFFOLK

May 19: Proprietor will be doing an interview on BBC Suffolk Radio about their guesthouse and Veg Info Centre tied in with National Vegetarian Week, and they will be offering a prize of a 3 course evening meal for 2 meat-eaters on 30th May via the interview.
