May 27: Food. Information. We're a local trust that has launched a series of farmers markets in Middleton. Our May market is going to be tied into the National Vegetarian Week theme. We have an organic vegetable stall so we'd like to feature some veggie recipes and perhaps showcase a few with cookery demos. Anyone needing more info is welcome to call - 01833 641000.

We have just opened a new 6 site group contract with GE Money. We'll be offering a special vegetarian dish of the day and a daily deli sandwich of the day. Also using the 5 a Day concept to encourage our customers to try a healthier diet. There will be a display of luterature and handouts in each site.

May 24 + 25: Food. Information. between 10am-2pm, celebrating National Vegetarian Week by supplying information and samples of Fry's Vegetarian food, all welcome.
Gosforth Alternative Soles (veggie shoes business)
May 26: 7pm, in St Charles Church Hall, Gosforth (near the South Gosforth & regent Centre metros just off the High Street). A vegetarian evening to celebrate the end of National Vegetarian Week - wine, tea, coffe, nibbles provided and if you would like to bring some food to share, it would be very welcome, there will be a display of vegetarian products from many ranges footware and bags, toiletries & cosmetics, chocolates and sweets. It would be useful to know approximately how many are coming so please email admin@alternativesouls.com if interested.

May 26: Information. planning an info stall in Newcastle market (near the fruit and veg stalls).
There will also be a shared display in almonds&raisins veggie/vegan cafe and wholefood shop all week.
South Shields VegNE (Affiliated Group)
May 21-27:
Information. The local group will be organising a display of veggie literature in the South Shields Central Library. (Open 9.30am - 6pm)
