My
19 month old son attends a local nursery in Shepley,
West Yorkshire. It's called Grey Fell Academy and is a really
friendly nursery with fantastic staff. He has been vegetarian
since birth as both my husband and I are vegetarian. Although
he is the only vegetarian at Grey Fell the staff have been
careful, considerate and helpful at catering for his needs and
nothing has been too much trouble.
A few weeks ago I mentioned that it was National Vegetarian Week
coming up and suggested perhaps that they should all go veggie for
a day. The Acting Manager Louise thought it would be a better idea
to go veggie for the whole week!
The week was a real success as they displayed posters and themed
the whole week around fruit and veg and healthy food. The weeks menu
was really imaginative and all the children enjoyed helping to prepare
the food. They even made their own fruit smoothies!
