Things to do for National Vegetarian Week

Individuals and families are welcome to get involved in National Vegetarian Week as well as groups, organisations and businesses. Here are a few suggestions you might like to consider:

Write a letter - to your local paper, parish magazine, school magazine - anywhere that might be interested and tell them that National Vegetarian Week is happening. Need help? We have a letter-writing guide in pdf format

Order a copy of our leaflet 'Food for Thought' for yourself or a friend who is thinking about going veggie.

Talk to your friends about National Vegetarian Week and encourage them to look at our website for further information and events

Encourage your veggie friends to join The Vegetarian Society and support our work.

Invite a non-vegetarian friend or two round to your home for a meal. Have a look at our recipe pages for inspiration.

If you take your lunch in a large works canteen, then order a copy of Serving Vegetarians - A Guide for the Catering Industry to pass on to the Catering Manager.

Talk to your local cafe/restaurant/pub and ask them to put on a special veggie meal for the Week. Mention that they can get free publicity in our online diary.

Encourage local business to display our posters (coming soon).

Take some veggie food into work to share with your colleagues.

Challenge a non-veggie friend to go veggie for the Week.
