In our coffee shop we plan to have a special menu with a bigger range of vegetarian food during NVW. We are situated indside a gym so it will be easier to promote healthy food! There is also a creche inside the building and we will work with the staff to educate the children about vegetarianism and healthy eating. We will encourage our catering staff in approx. 180 primary schools in Oxfordshire to offer a theme day menu, which are very popular with pupils. We will send a poster, booklet and stickers to each of our kitchens. Our vegetarian menus have improved much this year and we will take the opportunity to find out from cooks, schools, parents and pupils what they think of our vegetarian options, and how we can improve these further.

On the Saturday, the 24th there will be a veggie bbq during the day 12 till 5pm. During the day we will also be selling tickets for a raffle where the chance to win food vouchers for The George and other goodies. To celebrate veggie week we'll be preparing delicious tasters for customers and any hungry visitors! We are promoting salads made from British grains; wheat, spelt and barley. For wheat and gluten free diets we are offering samples of dishes that use Red Quinoa, Millet and Polenta. All free tasters are 100% vegan and made on the premises using organic and locally grown fresh produce. Recipe sheets will be provided free of charge. On top of that Redwoods have sent us free samples from their range which customers can try. Basically we're planning to eat a lot during this week!!!
