Green
Garden cafe at The Foyer
Lower Holyhead Road, Coventryf
May 23: Food. Social
event. 11am-4pm, launch party for Green Garden
Cafe.
Young people will be involved in much of the preparation and delivery of
this
event. There will be free healthy veggie/dairy free food available on the
day.
'Green Garden Cafe' is a new social enterprise, not for profit organisation,
that
offers
pure
vegetarian catering for any occasion. We plan to be as environmentally
friendly as possible by using as much locally sourced organic products
as are available and by using environmentally friendly biodegradable packaging
wherever possible. We will be working in partnership with 'The Foyer' (Young
People's Centre) in Coventry to deliver healthy living training to young
people. This
will involve such content as the growing of organic vegetables, shopping
trips to buy produce with as lower road mileage as is possible and the
cooking of what we grow and buy to make healthy, easy to produce, meals.
Exactly what we can deliver will be subject to funding. See www.greengardencafe.co.uk
Wendy Foxall - childminder
I'm going to serve vegetarian food to all the children I care (age 1-8)
for during the week, as well as my own family. I will also base the
activities for this week around vegetables. Activities will include:
cooking/eating, planting vegetable seeds, hopefully harvesting some fruit
and veg, colouring, vegetable printing etc.
