Boost business by joining in the veggie celebration
12 April 2012
National Vegetarian Week(NVW) is a fun, light-hearted and delicious celebration of all things veggie. It’s an ideal opportunity for cafes, shops and restaurants to boost business. The Vegetarian Society provides free poster packs to businesses and promotes the activities which are added to the What’s Happening calendar at www.nationalvegetarianweek.org
NVW activities can be a discount on your veggie dishes, a new dish created especially for the week or even a vegetarian evening. This year there’s an optional focus on breakfasts, so if you serve them why not join in by adding an offer? It’s completely free to add your activity to the What’s Happening calendar and once the events are on the calendar they’ll be promoted through social media.
Liz O’Neill, Head of Communications at the Vegetarian Society, said “National Vegetarian Week’s promotional posters, banners and leaflets are now available - they’re very zingy so you’ll need your sunglasses. Once you’ve decided on your NVW activity post it onto our What’s Happening calendar. Maybe you’ll be increasing the veggie dishes on your menu so that your customers have more of a choice or perhaps you can create an entry for the Big Veggie Breakfast Butty Challenge. Whatever you do make sure National Vegetarian Week 21-27 May is in your diary!”
This year’s extravaganza of veggie vitality, National Vegetarian Week 21-27 May, celebrates the most important meal of the day – breakfast. An essential part of everyone’s day whether you are veggie or not.
Now in its twentieth year, National Vegetarian Week (NVW) is the annual awareness-raising campaign promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved and you don’t have to be a devotee of breakfasts. Restaurants, schools, libraries, caterers, shops, manufacturers and individuals can find out more at www.nationalvegetarianweek.org or call 0161 925 2000.
