WHO DOES THE BEST BREKKIE?
Vegetarian Society Awards - Best Veggie Cooked Breakfast
Tucking
into a tasty cooked breakfast is one of life’s great
pleasures. Thankfully these days vegetarians are offered a lot more
than a bowl of cereal and toast as a ‘start to the day’.
In fact, the standard of vegetarian cooked breakfasts have improved
so much that The Vegetarian Society has decided to reward the very
best.
So, where have your readers had the perfect vegetarian brekkie? Perhaps
it was in a pub, a café, a motorway service station, at a
favourite B&B or even on a plane! With veggie options like vegetarian
sausages, bacon and even black pudding available these days, there’s
no excuse for not catering for veggie customers.
Therefore, if the eggs were free-range, the portions plentiful and
cooked to perfection, we want to know!
Public nominations can be cast at www.vegsoc.org/awards. The closing
date is 30th October, 2006, with the winner being announced in January
2007.
Spokesperson for The Vegetarian Society, Collette Walsh, says: “Britain’s
three million vegetarians are a powerful force and one that loves a
good brekkie like anybody else. It is great that cafes, pubs, hotels
and other eating places have clocked on to the fact that veggies should
be catered for too.”.
The Vegetarian Society’s Awards are highly regarded in the food
and drinks industry. They promote best practice among caterers, manufacturers
and retailers, and highlight the importance of integrity in the vegetarian
market place.
