NEWS/EVENTS RELEASE FROM THE VEGETARIAN SOCIETY

FOR GOODNESS SAKES, GIVE IT A GO…
THE ‘GO VEGGIE FOR A WEEK’ CHALLENGE!

Take the veggie challenge – it’s nothing to be scared of!

NATIONAL VEGETARIAN WEEK 22-28 MAY

The Vegetarian Society wants to prove once and for all that becoming veggie is nothing to be scared of. Why? Well because everyone seems to think that going veggie is really difficult, boring, or, that all there is to eat is sprouts! Yuck!

We’re asking everyone in the UK to be big brave boys and girls and take the veggie challenge! It’s really not that scary, honest…join the other three million plus veggies in the UK who are enjoying a healthier, sexier and kinder life. We veggies really aren’t from another planet you know!

BE BRAVE! Come on scaredy cats – what’s so hard about going veggie?

• Being different - doh! How many veggies do you know already? As if you would be the only one around!

• Being in the kitchen for hours cooking – take a look at the supermarket shelves there are loads of healthy, ready made meals and you can’t get quicker than beans on toast, or jacket spud and cheese.

• Being laughed at – don’t be a muppet… just look at top comic Dave Spikey, he’s been a veggie for years and is well funny! (Admit it you would love to be a comedian).

• Being left out – any restaurant worth its salt knows they can’t ignore the powerful veggie market – that’s why they’re offering more and more delicious veggie options! Remember, there are millions of meat reducers too – they want gorgeous meat-free food as well.

• Being boring - tell anyone you are veggie and trust us you are guaranteed to be the centre of attention. (What do you eat? Don’t you miss bacon? Blah, blah..)

• Being true to yourself, finally – know how great it is to look at that little lamb without feeling guilty! (After all you wouldn’t eat your pet would you?)

• Being caught in the act - of enjoying a veggie sausage or a veggie rashers sarnie, plus ketchup, yum!

• Turning into a rabbit – now don’t be silly… everyone loves a bunny!

As for the sprouts they aren’t compulsory and remember they are only vegetables for goodness sakes!

SO, WHY GO VEGGIE?
