All the short-listed sandwiches were checked by The Vegetarian Society for their ingredients and mode of preparation, to ensure only the highest standards were met. Collette Walsh, spokersperson for The Vegetarian Society said: “We applaud Pret A Manger for creating such a tasty veggie sandwich. Vegetarians won’t put up with boring cheddar cheese or egg mayo sandwiches anymore. We want something imaginative and healthy too – Pret’s Avodado Salad Wrap certainly meets that criteria.” Simon Hargraves, Commercial Director for Pret A Manger added: “We’re thrilled that Pret should have won this award. The Pret team works very hard, it’s great to be endorsed by the public. It makes it all worth it.
