‘STUDVEG’
servicing students…
the vegetarian way

The Vegetarian Society is offering support for vegetarian groups in universities and colleges and hopes to encourage the formation of new veggie groups.

Support includes a special email discussion group for student contacts (and with a name like ‘Studveg’ who wouldn’t want to be a member!), plus supplies of leaflets and posters, and plenty of ideas for celebrating National Vegetarian Week (22-28 May, 2006). So, if you are involved in an existing student veggie group, or you fancy setting up a new group, please get in touch with alex@vegsoc.org, he’d love to hear from you.

Meanwhile, give your veggie Valentine the ‘Love Bite’, a sexy sandwich made for two!

Ingredients:
1 medium baguette
Olive oil
1 clove garlic
¾ tub Philadelphia-style cream cheese
5 sun-dried tomatoes
5 artichokes in oil or brine, cut into bite size pieces

Take 1 medium baguette, tease open and gently rub with a cut clove of garlic. Take your virgin olive oil and lubricate well in preparation for filling. Smear with a generous amount of cream cheese and push in the heady combination of sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes. Keep stuffing until the cheese starts to ooze around the edges.

Serve uncut - this double ended vegetarian delight will satisfy sandwich lovers everywhere.
