Fabulous Farmers’ Markets - Winner announced. Best Farmers’ Market for Vegetarians Award
The Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce that the winner of the Best Farmers’ Market for Vegetarians Award is Teesdale Farmers Market, Barnard Castle. Liz O’Neill, Head of Communications at The Vegetarian Society said, “The farmers market at Barnard Castle really impressed the judges. Stalls with vegetarian produce or vegetarian options were plentiful, well labelled and easy to identify. There was a strong emphasis on the provenance of items for sale and this was added to by the knowledge of the stall holders. Plus the food looked fresh, tasty and appealing. Many congratulations to the winners.” This new award was created to applaud farmers’ markets across the UK with nominations coming from Vegetarian Society members and the general public.
