October 2008
Food and Wine Matching - new course launched If Manchester Food and Drink Festival has your taste buds in the mood for food and wine then the ¢ªCordon Vert cookery school has just the course for you. The Altrincham based school has launched a Wine and Dine Taster Evening on October 24. More details can be found online at www.cordonvert.co.uk or by calling Jane on 0161 925 2014. Christine Tilbury, Head of ¢ªCordon Vert, says, ¡°This is a course with a difference. It not only informs you about a range of wines, their subtle flavours and characteristics, but also guides you through the principles of how to match wines with food. From the aperitif through to wines suitable for spicy, creamy, citrus, salty dishes and of course, sweet wine for desserts. The evening will have great flavours, plenty of discussion, and lots of tasting.¡± The course begins with a glass of chilled Prosecco, followed by five different dishes demonstrated by Christine Tilbury. Each dish will be matched with separate wines by wine expert Stephen Rosser. The course commences at 6.15pm with a finish time of approximately 9.30pm. To find out more about the Cordon Vert cookery school visit www.cordonvert.co.uk for information on courses, prices, diary dates and gift vouchers. Other workshops in October are Around the World, Casablanca, Light and Easy, Hot and Spicy and the Italian workshop.
