Get Your Omega-3s
From Natural Select Milled Flaxseed Bread
Thanks to Natural
Select you can now get all the omega-3 you need from their Vegetarian
Society approved Milled Flaxseed Bread. This is great news for vegetarians
- and anyone else who wants optimum nutrition from a delicious and convenient
source.
Omega-3 is an essential
fatty acid, mistakenly believed by many to be found only in fish. In fact
flaxseed (or linseed) is a naturally rich source that lends itself perfectly
to bread making, producing a light loaf with a naturally nutty flavour
that can be enjoyed every day as part of your staple diet.
Natural Select Milled
Flaxseed Bread is delicious on its own, for sandwiches or to make fantastic
toast. This nutritious and tasty product is only available from manufacturers
Sounas Ltd. Visit their product website www.naturalselect.co.uk
for more information or call them on 0208 574 0090 to place an order.
The Vegetarian Societys approved
trademark was
established in 1969. Since then it has become the most widely recognised
and trusted stamp of vegetarian approval anywhere in the world.
The symbol can be found on a huge range of products, including retail
food and drinks, catering supplies, household goods, cosmetics and
toiletries.
The strength of the
symbol is based on products meeting four firm criteria: Products have
to be free of animal flesh, meat or bone stock, animal carcass fats, gelatine,
aspic or any other products resulting from slaughter. Approval will only
be granted to products or ingredients not tested on animals since 1986,
any eggs used in products must be free-range. In 1998 the criteria was
modified to exclude genetically modified organisms as these will generally
have been tested on animals.
The Society also
requires that cross contamination does not occur between vegetarian and
non-vegetarian products during food production. No other symbol gives
consumers such reassurance and inspires the trust that comes from the
Vegetarian Society approved symbol.
The Vegetarian Society, is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world.
It offers an independent voice to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.
The Vegetarian Society
Awards 2002, which promote good practice in the vegetarian food and
catering industries will be held on 7 November 2002 at The Waldorf Hotel,
The Strand, London.
