Members of the Food and Drink Guild Scheme are able to use the Society's approved logo (the seedling symbol)

The Vegetarian Society's trademark seedling symbol was established in 1969. Since then it has become the most widely recognised and trusted stamp of vegetarian approval anywhere in the world. The strength of the symbol is based on products meeting firm criteria. No other symbol gives consumers such reassurance and inspires the trust that comes from The Vegetarian Society seedling approved symbol.

The Vegetarian Society, a registered educational charity, is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world. It offers an independent voice able to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2002, which promote good practice in the vegetarian food and catering industries will be held on 7 November 2002 at The Waldorf Hotel, The Strand, London.
