the whole family, vegetarians and non vegetarians a like. Sections range
from practical top tips for a happy kitchen, to dealing with friends
and
easy tasty recipes to try. Plus answers to those questions and worries
relating to nutrition, why young people go veggie and getting the healthy
balance right. The guide has areas specific to teenagers and others for
parents. To get your free copy please call 0161 925 2000 alternatively

From finding out what
a vegetarian is, to discovering where veggies get their protein from,
all of this and more is revealed in the new Parent and Teenager Guide.
Once you have read all the useful information, why not try the fantastic
food ideas from quick meal fixes through to a warming veggie sausage casserole,
perfect paella, pizza ideas and great desserts like lemon cheesecake,
layered orange cake or scrumptious scones.
Alex Connell, Youth
Education Officer says, A teenager choosing a veggie diet can
cause worries and headaches for their parents, but we hope that this
guide
will
go someway to calming the waters, providing practical support to all
the family and helping everyone enjoy the adventure of having a veggie
in
the family.
The Parent and Teenager
Guide is part of a range of practical literature which includes Nursery
Catering Packs, Teenage guides or Weaning Information - designed to support
families at every stage of their development.
The Societys
education department works closely with schools and colleges to increase
awareness of vegetarianism through cookery demonstrations, speakers
and
resources. Our expert advice and experience is available for Food Technology
teachers and students as well as after school cookery clubs. Our lively
and interactive cookery demonstrations promote healthy eating and introduce
students to cookery techniques, ingredients and fabulous food. School
speakers also provide information on nutrition, statistics, and the
marketing
packaging of vegetarian foods. To support students we provide a wide
range of resources including posters, video and student information
packs.
The Vegetarian Societys
Parent and Teenager Booklet has been generously supported
by the Cyril Cordon Trust. The Cyril Cordon Trust encourages vegetarian
and humanitarian education.
Ends.
