Food for Thought - 2002January 8th, 2002The Vegetarian Society is encouraging anyone thinking of going veggie this New Year to obtain a copy of Food for Thought - a guide to going and staying veggie. This brand new, 20 page, colour, starter pack for would-be veggies contains mouth-watering recipes, nutritional advice and information about the Society. The Society, a registered educational charity, has produced the booklet with a foreword by its patron Stella McCartney, just in time for the New Year - a key time for new starts. Simply call the Society on : 0161 925 2000 to obtain your free copy or visit www.vegsoc.org and go to the section called "new veggies". What's more, whatever the reasons that people decide to go veggie, they won't be alone with around 2000 people a week joining the veggie revolution. Currently around 5% of the adult population are vegetarian - that's double the number from ten years ago! Stella McCartney says "Many thousands of people are rejecting traditional meat-based meals in favour of something that's fresh, delicious, satisfying, healthy, kinder and good for the environment. The Vegetarian Society is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world. It offers an independent voice able to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.
