April 2003Redwood pushes the boat out to launch a new range for National Vegetarian WeekAfter the success of its 'fish-style' fingers, The Redwood Company has really pushed the boat out and developed an entire fleet of Vegetarian Society approved fish-free food. The new Making Waves range includes Vegetarian breaded scampi-style pieces (£1.69 for 125g), Vegetarian breaded fish-style steaks (£1.49 for 125g), Vegetarian style tuna (£1.79 for 113g) and a Vegetarian smoked salmon style paté (£1.79 for 113g). The timing of the launch couldn't be better with National Vegetarian Week taking place from 19-25 May. At last those for whom fish is the final hurdle can go veggie without giving up their favourite flavour. As Tina Fox, Vegetarian Society chief executive, says: "Fish is often the last thing that people give up before going veggie. It's great news when a company produces new products that might help them take the final step towards a compassionate, environmentally friendly lifestyle." These innovative new products are available from good health food stores where you will also find Redwood's Vegetarian Society Award-winning breaded fish-style fingers. The strength of The Vegetarian Society seedling symbol is based on products meeting the following criteria: The Society also requires that cross contamination does not occur between vegetarian and non-vegetarian products during food production. No other symbol gives consumers such reassurance and inspires the trust that comes from The Vegetarian Society approved symbol. The Vegetarian Society is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world. It offers an independent voice to promote and provide information on vegetarianism. National Vegetarian Week 2003 'Satisfaction' takes place from 19-25 May. Notes
