Vegetarians' Bone Idol!
Osteocare® tablets approved by The Vegetarian Society

The Vegetarian Society is happy to approve Osteocare®, the number one calcium supplement in the UK. Formulated by leading doctors and pharmacists, and also available as a pleasant tasting liquid which is perfect for children, Osteocare® is the only calcium supplement in the UK with the full RDA of calcium to be officially approved by The Vegetarian Society.

Ensuring an adequate intake of calcium is vital for men and women of all ages. Osteocare® provides a rich source of calcium with co-factors to help maintain strong bones and teeth, as well as the health of the heart, muscles, and nerves. The formula includes the full-recommended daily allowances of calcium and magnesium, which play a vital role in bone development, along with vitamin D and zinc.

The Osteocare® formulation is based on the very latest international findings on the role of nutrients in bone health, as well as multiple large-scale scientific studies in the past 20 years.

Osteocare® is available in the UK from larger Boots, supermarkets and pharmacies, and health stores including Holland and Barrett.

The strength of the Vegetarian Society seedling symbol is based on products meeting the following criteria:

  • Products must be free from all meat, poultry, fish, shellfish and crustacea.

  • Products must not contain slaughter by-products such as gelatine or animal fat.

  • Any eggs used in the product must be free-range.

  • Approval will only be granted to products or ingredients not tested on animals since 1986.

  • Approval will not be given to genetically modified ingredients as these are likely to have been tested on animals.
  • The Society also requires that cross contamination does not occur between vegetarian and non-vegetarian products during food production. No other symbol gives consumers such reassurance and inspires the trust that comes from the Vegetarian Society approved symbol.

The Vegetarian Society is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world. It offers an independent voice to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.

National Vegetarian Week 2003 takes place from 19-25 May.
