The Vegetarian Society
is pleased to announce that The Mushroom Bureau has taken up the seven-day
veggie challenge for this year's National
Vegetarian Week. Not only have they commissioned the Cordon Vert school
to develop a magical mushroom menu from our basic 'Satisfaction'
recipes, but The Bureau has also become an official partner of National
Vegetarian Week 2003!
The Mushroom Bureau
menu features an array of different types of cultivated mushrooms - with
this much choice of taste and texture on offer there's a mushroom dish
to really satisfy everyone.
If you're mushroom
mad you can celebrate National Vegetarian Week with seven whole days of
mushroom meals! The following recipes and photographs can be downloaded
from the mushroom Bureau's website www.mushroom-uk.com
from 1st February.
1. Chilled Exotic
Mushroom soup with oyster & shiitake mushrooms.
2. Mushroom & Saffron Herb Potato Salad with button & enoki mushrooms.
3. Mushroom, Spinach & Ricotta Tarts with chestnut mushrooms.
4. Mushroom Wheel & Cashew Sauce with flat mushrooms.
5. Mushroom Foccacia Pizza with open cup mushrooms.
6. Barbecued Mushroom & Tortellini Kebabs with closed cup mushrooms.
7. Tangy Mushroom & Tomato Casserole with blewit & horse mushrooms.
The Vegetarian Society
is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the world. It offers an independent
voice to promote and provide information on vegetarianism.

The Vegetarian
Society defines a vegetarian as a person who eats no meat, poultry, game,
fish, shellfish or crustacea. Vegetarians also avoid the by-products
of
slaughter such as gelatine or animal rennet in cheese. The Society only
approves products containing eggs when they are free range.
