March
2003 Vegetarian
Society Awards 2003
Nominate Now!
The
prestigious Vegetarian Society
Awards are held annually to promote best practice among caterers and
manufacturers, and highlight the importance of integrity in the vegetarian
marketplace. Each year businesses vie for the chance to display the coveted
Vegetarian Society Award 'Winner' logo on their establishment, packaging
or advertisements.
Public
opinion helps us to set the standard so the Society is inviting nominations
from anyone who would like to have their say. Nominate online at www.vegsoc.org
or phone 0161 925 2000 and we will send you a form.
Tell
us about the best place to buy vegetarian food, and what is the best
veggie ready-meal on the market? Where do vegetarians go for a slap-up
dinner
or a low-key lunch? Now is the time to nominate those businesses and
products that go the extra mile to help make the vegetarian lifestyle
delicious
and convenient. This year we also want to know what's on your wish-list
Nomination

Best
Vegetarian Provision in an Omnivorous Café or Restaurant

needs and offers a real choice of dishes rather than a 'veggie option'.

staff who are well informed and clear labelling?
Best
Vegetarian Ready Meal
- Which dish is always on your shopping list for those days when you want
to eat well, effortlessly?
Best Meat or

- Some veggies miss the taste and texture of meat - nominate the product
that satisfies your stomach and your conscience.
Best
Vegetarian Wine or Beer
- What's your favourite veggie tipple? As long as it's free from isinglass,
gelatine, battery eggs and other slaughterhouse by-products we'll gladly
sample your nominations!
(Im)Perfect
World Award
- What's on your wish-list? Some products are just one ingredient or a
couple of E-numbers away from being suitable for vegetarians. Let us know
which specific product you'd most like to buy IF it was veggie. Whether
it's Irish stout, children's sweets, a packet of biscuits or tortellini
filled with non-veggie cheese, we'll contact the manufacturers of the
top 5 nominees and let them know what you want.
Make
sure you have your say before the end of July so that our panel of expert
judges and mystery shoppers can do their stuff in time for the Vegetarian
Society Awards this Autumn.
