Free Catering Booklet for Schools and Colleges
from The Vegetarian Society.
From 13-17 October 2003 school caterers around the nation will be working
hard to demonstrate how nutritious and interesting school meals can be.
To help caterers provide an excellent understanding of the vegetarian
diet, and a delicious choice of meals for pupils, The Vegetarian Society
has produced a free Catering Booklet for Schools and Colleges. A series
of 5 bookmarks, featuring recipes from the booklet and nutritional information,
is also available free to those schools who would like to hand them out
to their pupils.
An essential resource for every school kitchen, The Vegetarian Society
Catering Booklet for Schools and Colleges provides useful definitions
of the terms ‘vegetarian’ and ‘vegan’,
and an invaluable section on vegetarian nutrition. The catering scale recipes
featured are inexpensive and straightforward to prepare and will suit every school
menu and budget. The bookmarks offer a perfect opportunity to engage with the
pupils and encourage healthy eating.
