Marks & Spencer named Best for Vegetarian Wine and Beer at The Vegetarian Society Awards

Marks & Spencer was named last night as the Best Retailer for Vegetarian Wine and Beer. The announcement was made at the annual Vegetarian Society Awards in London, where M&S went head to head with Tesco, Co-op and Vintage Roots in a bid for this prestigious award.

Tina Fox, Chief Executive of The Vegetarian Society, commented:
“ Sourcing wine and beer that is suitable for vegetarians can be difficult as manufacturers are not obliged to list the animal products used in the fining process on the product itself. Marks and Spencer have really taken this into consideration and offer a fantastic selection of vegetarian wine and beer with clear labeling on the bottle.”

The award was presented to Sue Daniels and Gerd Stepp from Marks & Spencer at a glamorous ceremony in London’s Magic Circle last night.
