Doncaster’s finest makes
Awards Shortlist

The Fieldgate Centre Café sure knows how to make its customers veggie happy. In fact, the quality of food at one of Doncaster’s favourite eateries is so impressive it has been brought to the attention of veggie bigwigs, The Vegetarian Society.

The Society recently asked members of the public to nominate outstanding cafés or bistros for a coveted national award. Hundreds of establishments were nominated, but 5 stood out owing to the volume of public support for them.

The people of Doncaster clearly love the café at The Fieldgate Centre, but the final decision about who will win the title of ‘Best Vegetarian Café or Bistro’ at the 2005 Vegetarian Society Awards, will depend on the reports of mystery diners. The other contenders include Plymouth Arts Centre café, Rainbow Café, Cambridge, Exeter’s Plant Café-Deli, Bean Inn at Carbis Bay, Cornwall, and previous award winners, Café Maitreya in Bristol.

The winner will be announced at an exclusive star-studded event on Thursday 27th October, on board The Cutty Sark in London’s Greenwich Dock.
