Glasgow’s innovative vegan café-bar nominated for prestigious national award

The excellent reputation of Mono, Glasgow’s very own vegan café-bar, has spread far and wide and now the innovative establishment has made the shortlist for this year’s Vegetarian Society Awards.

Mono is a hot contender in the ‘Best provision for vegetarians in a pub or pub chain’ category, and goes head to head with previous award winner The George Pub in Brighton, national chain J.D.Wetherspoon, and Manchester’s fleet of Marble Brewery pubs and bars.

Vegetarian Society spokeswoman Liz O’Neill said, “Whenever I’m back in Glasgow I make a beeline for Mono. I only wish it had been there during my student days!”

The bar will be visited by mystery diners as part of the judging process. The winner of the awards will be announced at an exclusive ceremony aboard The Cutty Sark in London on Thursday 27th October.
