New Traditions As many people are growing to realise, vegetarian cuisine has something delicious to offer for every occasion, and Christmas is no exception. The good news is you CAN enjoy a very traditional Christmas dinner, and all the trimmings, without resorting to meat - and without taking the road to nut roast. If you’re trying to cut out the meat, enjoy healthy food or have vegetarians to cater for this year, The Vegetarian Society’s new Christmas recipe booklet is essential reading. ‘New Traditions’ features a complete Christmas menu to help you create a very special meal that’s sure to influence festive traditions for years to come, and what’s more, it’s absolutely free. ‘New Traditions – recipes for a meat-free Christmas’ is
available from October. Order your free copy by calling The Vegetarian
Society on 0161 925 2000. Notes for editors
• Recipes and images from ‘New Traditions’ available from August 15th • The Vegetarian Society defines a vegetarian as a person who eats no meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea. Vegetarians also avoid the by-products of slaughter such as gelatine or animal rennet in cheese. The Society only approves products containing eggs when they are free-range. • Date for your diary: Press
