23rd - 29th May 2005 is National Vegetarian Week
sponsored by Quorn - It might just surprise you!
VEGETARIANS ROCK!
The music industry
is full of vegetarian talent. That the world’s
most famous pop star, Paul McCartney doesn’t eat meat is a well known
fact, but you might be surprised to learn that rock legend, Meatloaf, would
rather tuck into nut loaf than the all-American dish he’s named after.
Other vegetarians that rock the world include:
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the man who does everything for you
- Bryan Adams, former popster and prolific songwriter Cathy Dennis,
Moby,
style-king André 3000, tub-thumpers Chumbawamba, Howard Jones,
Banco de Gaia, Chrissie Hynde and not forgetting the man who inspired
thousands to change their eating habits with the anthem ‘Meat
is Murder’, Morrissey.
Tina Fox, chief executive of The Vegetarian Society says:
“
Being a Scouser myself, and a Beatles fan, my top 3 vegetarian artists
would have to include Vegetarian Society patron Sir Paul McCartney, but
I’m also a huge fan of Chrissie Hynde and I love some of the
songs Cathy Dennis has written for Kylie and Britney.”
The Vegetarian Society is offering a free guide to going
veggie for anyone who’d like to give it a try during National Vegetarian Week.
