National Vegetarian Week 24th - 30th May 2004
Whatever your business, make
National Vegetarian Week YOUR business
The 12th National Vegetarian Week takes place from 24th-30th May. The
annual awareness week initiated by The Vegetarian Society promises to
be another successful way to promote vegetarian food, diet and health
products. It offers an ideal opportunity to gain media coverage and generate
consumer excitement for your meat-free menu, products or services.
- Vegetarianism appeals to key consumer groups and vegetarians have
a disproportionate influence over the shopping and dining habits of mixed
families and social groups.
- Vegetarians are joined by
the rapidly expanding “meat-reducer” category,
to form a large and growing sector. Up to a third of the population now
only eats meat ‘occasionally’ (Gallup Poll for Realeat, August
2001)
- National Vegetarian Week media coverage grows year on year, reaching
a circulation of over 80 million in 2003.
Whether your enterprise is
a small independent restaurant or café or
an international chain, a supermarket or a branded product, businesses
of all kinds can gain profile, exposure and sales through this annual
celebration of all things vegetarian.
To help you get the most out
of National Vegetarian Week 2004, The Vegetarian Society has created
a special section on its website. Full of ideas to
suit every business, and with examples of the successes of previous years’ business
activities, the National Vegetarian Week Business Pages also give you
the opportunity to use the National Vegetarian Week logo free of charge.
