Bringing the taste of the Caribbean to snowy Cheshire

29 January 2013

The Cordon Vert vegetarian cookery school brought a tropical heat wave to Altrincham earlier this month, with their first Flavours of the Caribbean workshop. Principal tutor, Alex Connell, posed for a picture with a pineapple in the cookery school’s snowy garden, whilst course participants warmed up in the newly refurbished lounge. Once they donned their aprons and took to the kitchen they soon got into the swing of things, learning how to cook delicious dishes including Jamaican ackee and Caribbean kebabs with rice and peas. The next Flavours of the Caribbean workshop takes place on 13 April, when it’s hoped the sun will be shining. For more information on professional and leisure courses visit www.cordonvert.co.uk or call 0161 925 2000.

Alex Connell, Principal Tutor at Cordon Vert, said “the Flavours of the Caribbean course was a delight to develop with the team here at Cordon Vert. The Caribbean takes its influences from many places resulting in wonderfully eclectic cuisine. Come to the cookery school and get a break from the British weather to enjoy a sunshine cookery course. Afterwards, relax in the comfort of our new look dining room and eat the fruits of your labour.”

The Cordon Vert cookery school has an unrivalled reputation for excellent and innovative vegetarian cuisine drawing on a variety of international flavours and ingredients reflecting current trends in world cuisine with fresh and imaginative ideas.
