World War 1 - The Vegetarian Messenger's editorial on the outbreak of war.

 

The outbreak of war on 4 August 1914 was commented on in the September issue of the Vegetarian Society's magazine The Vegetarian Messenger and Health Review. To mark the centenary the item is reproduced below. The Vegetarian Society has an archive of its magazines from 1847 to the present day.
