Our website is award-winning for the fourth year running!

1 August 2018

The results of the 2018 Veggie Awards have been announced, and our website has won one for the fourth consecutive year!

Our website (www.vegsoc.org) has been crowned the “Best Ethical Online Resource” in the awards run by Veggie magazine. But that's not all. We also scooped a highly-commended spot in the “Best Organisation/Charity” category. The winners of both of these awards were decided by votes from Veggie magazine's readers.

We also partnered with Veggie magazine to bring the “Vegetarian Society's Hero Award” this year. The winner was the celebrated chef and author, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Hugh told Veggie magazine: “I am thrilled to have been voted Veggie Hero! At River Cottage, we've always celebrated fresh, seasonal produce, and glorious, generous vegetables are the very heart and soul of our cooking. I believe this approach is crucial for our wellbeing and the health of our planet, so thank you for giving me this award.”

In the highly-commended position was Mahatma Gandhi and chef Anna Jones.
