28 December 2016

As 2017 arrives it’s time to meet a tastier world. Everyone wants to enjoy their food and anyone going veggie in 2017 is going to love what’s on their plate.  So if you’ve decided to find out more about going veggie then the Vegetarian Society can help you with a downloadable new free guide. Learn to make simple switches to your favourite dishes that are good for you and good for your wallet.  Going Veggie: What to Eat - A guide for new vegetarians is available online at www.vegsoc.org/newyear

Lynne Elliot, Chief Executive of the Vegetarian Society, said: “Becoming veggie can be a cost effective way to stay healthy, and you may find switching to vegetarian versions of your favourite meals saves you money. We’ll give you the confidence to browse the supermarket aisles so you’ll feel good about what’s in your basket. Our guide also contains helpful hints on staying healthy with a simple guide to essential veggie nutrition. You’ll feel nourished inside and out.”

The 28 page guide begins with a cook what you love section looking at protein switches, way’s to lift your lunch and advice on cupboard love. If you are confused by carbs or ignorant about iron then knowledge is power and the nourish section will help to make the most out of being veggie.  To make sure the foods you buy are veggie-friendly the guide assists in navigating the supermarket aisles - all making for happy shoppers.

The Vegetarian Society is a national charity that influences, inspires and supports people to embrace and maintain a vegetarian lifestyle. Being a vegetarian is a choice that is kinder to animals, to people and to our planet. Visit www.vegsoc.org for more information.
