Should veggie and vegan products be in their own section?

You may have heard in the news that some supermarkets are thinking of placing veggie and vegan products alongside meat. The growth in ranges specifically aimed at vegetarians and vegans means that there will be more products in store but where should they be displayed?   

We asked our social media followers: When shopping, do you like vegetarian and vegan products to be in their own section? We had a wide range of answers.

The vast majority of comments 78.9% wanted vegetarian and vegan products to remain in their own separate section of the supermarket. The main reasons for this were 60% wouldn’t want to visit the meat-aisle, while 25.9% found veggie food easier to find if it is all in one section.

People could see the benefit for non-veggies of being able to discover veggie products if these were placed in the meat-aisle as well.
