Family favourite Soreen Original Malt Loaf joined the thousands of products licensed to carry our Vegetarian Society Approved vegetarian trademark.
We asked members, supporters and staff how they like to enjoy the moreish loaf. Here are a few of their stories:
“I love Soreen! I always smother it in butter and take loads when I’m out riding off road. I was absolutely gutted when I dropped it in the mud… I don’t think the five second rule applies here!"
Reminds me of Sunday evening teas as a child. The only meal we had on our laps in front of the telly!
“Back in my Glastonbury festival days, my friends and I were always looking for tasty treats that would survive being packed into a bursting rucksack! When Soreen launched the individually-wrapped bars the answer was clear! We always stocked up, and they pretty much kept us fuelled all weekend!”
When I go hill walking and finally get to the top of an amazing hill with amazing views, I get out my whole Soreen loaf and take a great big bite... yum!
“When we were small children, my sister and I would eagerly await our Friday order to arrive from the local grocery store. If there was enough money left in the housekeeping, my mum would order a Soreen loaf and we got to eat it on Saturday afternoon, sliced thinly and spread with margarine. It was a lovely and luxurious treat and we were always very sad on the weeks when there wasn’t enough money for one!”
